Houston, TX –Wesley Hunt, Houston native, Apache helicopter pilot, and Republican candidate for Congress, released the following statement on his announcement to run for Congress in Texas’ new 38th Congressional district.
“I am extremely proud to announce my intention to run for Congress in Texas’ new 38th Congressional District. Together with my family, my team, and with the support of patriots across the country and right here at home, we will complete the mission I first embarked on in 2019. The gravity of this election has never been greater, and in the 250 days Joe Biden has been in office, our country has felt the atrocious policies instituted by a Democrat controlled government that include record high inflation, a failing economy, a disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan which claimed the lives of thirteen service members, vaccine mandates by executive order, and a preventable surge in illegal immigration across our southern border.
Our elected representatives in Congress must be willing to fight to preserve the values that make our country exceptional and defend the Constitution, and if elected, I promise to do just that. The path to stopping Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi is to win back the house, and I’m confident that the voters of Texas’ 38th Congressional District will agree. I have served our country once before and with the support of the voters I look forward to serving again.”
Wesley Hunt was the 2020 Republican nominee in Texas’ 7th Congressional District where his campaign raised $8 million. Wesley and his team also knocked on more than 400,000 doors and outperformed the top of the ticket by nearly six percent. Hunt prevailed in the 2020 7th District Primary winning with over sixty percent of the vote in a crowded six person primary. Wesley was endorsed by a number of national leaders in the conservative movement, including President Trump.
Wesley Hunt is a conservative fighter who will stop the democrats from destroying our country and will protect the American Dream.
