Houston, TX – Wesley Hunt, Houston native, former Diplomatic Liaison Officer to Saudi Arabia, and conservative candidate for Congress, issued the following statement on Hillary Clinton’s treasonous act of spying on President Trump.
“The Durham Report suggests that President Trump and his campaign were illegally spied on. Actively spying on anyone without a court order is not only a breach of our individual liberties but also a federal crime, and spying on the President of the United States to delegitimize the presidency is treason. Hillary Clinton and her campaign’s actions represent a clear and present danger to our republic, and if these allegations are true, everyone involved should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
“Durham’s filings show that Hillary Clinton, and not Vladimir Putin, interfered in the 2016 election. Democrats spent four years undermining election confidence based on a false narrative created by the perpetrators of one of the greatest political crimes in American history. The filing also suggests that the Clinton Campaign did more than just spy on the President, they hacked into confidential federal government servers.
“The foundation of our country is based upon the principles of free and fair elections. The act of spying on a sitting President is criminal but also has the potential to set horrible precedents and undermine future elections in this country. There is no greater threat to democracy than an erosion of trust and faith in our institutions. The actors involved must be held accountable.
“These actions by Hillary Clinton are much worse than Watergate. This is espionage and treason. Donald Trump was right all along on this issue.”
