John Cornyn Told WSJ He Would Drop Out for the Right Candidate

Houston, TX- In June, The Wall Street Journal published an article outlining the Texas Senate race. John Cornyn stated, “I refuse to let someone of his character — or lack of character — represent Texas in the Senate,” referring to Ken Paxton.
He went on to say that he would be “…willing to step aside for the right candidate to defeat Ken Paxton…”

At the time, John Cornyn was still making his case to the President, trying to receive an endorsement, and Wesley Hunt was rumored to be entering the race. To which Cornyn had a lot to say.

As of today, John Cornyn has dropped to third place, and Wesley Hunt has surged to second. After just six weeks in the race, polls show that in a head-to-head matchup against Paxton, Hunt and Paxton are statistically tied.

If Cornyn needed evidence that Hunt has the momentum to win the race, he has it.

So the real question is: Is John Cornyn a man of his word? Will he drop out of the race?
