| Houston, Texas – This morning, Congressman Wesley Hunt issued a statement responding to John Cornyn’s incessant criticism of his missed votes. “The greatest honor of my life is, and has always been, being a husband to Emily and a father of three beautiful children, Victoria, Olivia, and Willie Hunt II,” said Hunt. “My first son, Willie Hunt II, named after my father, spent the first months of his life in the neonatal intensive care unit fighting for his life. “During this extreme hardship, I made the decision to prioritize my children and my wife, who was also admitted into the ICU after giving birth, by staying home and taking care of my family. “I missed votes so that I could stand by my son’s bed in the NICU and pray that he lived another day. I missed votes so that I could hold Emily’s hand while she underwent emergency medical procedures due to complications from the birth of our youngest child. “When Willie was finally discharged from the hospital, I missed votes to take care of him and care for all my children while my wife recovered. I missed votes so that my son and all my children would know who their daddy was when he returned from Washington, D.C. “It is also no secret that I missed votes to campaign for President Trump during the most critical presidential election of my lifetime. As the first person in the nation to endorse President Trump, I traveled the entire nation to ensure President Trump won the Primary and the General Election. “When I was traveling to Iowa numerous times for the caucus, John Cornyn was telling Texans it was time to move on from President Trump.” Texans WISH John Cornyn had missed more Votes in the Senate June 2022: Cornyn voted to implement Red Flag Laws on Texans January 2021: Cornyn voted to advance Merrick Garland’s nomination July 2013: Cornyn voted for FBI Director James Comey QUESTION: Does John Cornyn still believe that the Republican Party is the party of family values?
