Senator John Cornyn and his Washington donors have spent millions of dollars attacking me for missing votes while in Congress. What John Cornyn doesn’t want you to know is that I missed those votes because I care and love my family. Willie Parish Hunt II, my youngest child, was born premature and was in the NICU. My wife suffered complications from his birth and was in the hospital as well. I chose to stand by their bedsides in Texas and pray over them in the hopes that they would recover. Being a Congressman is a great honor, but it doesn’t come close to being a father and a husband. My voting record while in Congress is one of the most conservative from all of TX. I’m proud to have a 96% liberty score, compared to Cornyn 54% In fact, sometimes I wish Cornyn had skipped more votes during his 24-year-long career in the Senate.

Almost twenty years ago, I voted for Hillary Clinton as a part of Rush Limbaugh’s Operation Chaos in 2008. When I was deployed to Baghdad, Rush was played constantly on the base. I participated in Operation Chaos so that John McCain would have an easier pathway to victory in the general election, so that we could avoid Obama altogether.

I proudly cast my vote for Donald J. Trump in 2016, 2020, and 2024. I was the first person in the entire country to endorse President Trump, and he endorsed me 3 separate times for the U.S. House of Representatives.
