Continues to Outpace Lizzie Fletcher’s 2018 Fundraising
Houston, TX – Today Hunt for Congress announced that Wesley Hunt, Army combat veteran and Republican for Congress in TX-07, raised nearly half a million dollars in the last three months, bringing his fundraising total for the first 6 months of the campaign to just shy of $1 million. The majority of the money raised came from voters in Texas:
“Success in politics requires teamwork, and I am humbled to have so many people joining our campaign and helping us achieve another impressive fundraising milestone,” Hunt said. “Over the last three months, it has become more and more clear to the voters that Congresswoman Fletcher is not representing them and has not kept her promise to be independent. She’s voted with Pelosi 100 percent of the time and now she’s supporting a divisive, partisan impeachment effort. I will bring people together for solutions and defend our way of life, and I am honored to have so many people stepping up to join our campaign.”
By comparison, Lizzie Fletcher only raised $184,000 during the same period of her campaign in 2018. Over the first six months of Hunt’s candidacy, he’s raised $960,000 compared to only $549,000 for Fletcher over the first 6 months of her 2018 campaign.
In addition to building the financial resources to run a winning campaign, Hunt is building a strong grassroots effort, already knocking on over 10,000 doors, recruiting over 100 volunteers and interns, and hosting well-attended meet and greets throughout the 7th district. Hunt recently earned the endorsement of Senator Ted Cruz, hosted a huge Women for Wes coalition kickoff, and has announced dozens of grassroots endorsements from local elected officials and precinct chairs.
