Houston, TX – Today, Wesley Hunt, Houston native and combat veteran running for Congress in Texas’ 7th Congressional District, announced that he more than doubled his opponent’s fundraising numbers in the third quarter of this year. In the final approach to Election Day, Hunt announced a third quarter fundraising haul of nearly $2.8 million to his campaign account, while his opponent, Representative Lizzie Fletcher, raised less than $1.3 million in the same period. With Election Day just 19 days away, and Hunt’s fundraising successes are putting him in an even more competitive position than ever before to defeat Fletcher at the ballot box.
“I am humbled by the outpouring of support we received from fellow Texans last quarter,” said Hunt. “From day one, our campaign has heard consistently from 7th District residents that they are ready for change. This past fundraising quarter is evidence of that sentiment. Not only did we surpass Congresswoman Fletcher, but we more than doubled the support she received. This significant gap between my fundraising numbers and hers makes clear where 7th District voters stand. I’d like to thank all of the Team Hunt supporters who have entrusted our campaign with their hard-earned dollars; I will never stop working to earn your trust and support and I will always fight to defend your interests, whether here in Houston or on Capitol Hill.”
Wesley Hunt is a Houston native and a battle-tested leader willing to stand up for the 7th Congressional District. While his opponent Lizzie Fletcher made Pelosi Speaker of the House and refuses to condemn the most liberal of Democratic priorities, Wesley is a problem solver who will work with both sides to bring results home to the 7th District.
Hunt raised $2.8 million to Hunt for Congress with an additional $500,000 to the Hunt Victory Fund.
