Wesley Hunt Accepts Debate Hosted By Nonpartisan Coalition of Local Leaders

Houston, TX – Today, Wesley Hunt, the Republican nominee running for Texas’ 7th Congressional District, formally accepted an invitation to participate in a debate hosted by the 6 Mayors of the Memorial Villages. This non-partisan coalition of local leaders has extended invitations to both Wesley Hunt and Representative Lizzie Fletcher and has offered to host an open debate as Election Day approaches. Current plans are for the debate to be held at an outdoor, socially-distanced venue and to be moderated by a neutral party.

“The residents of the Texas’ 7th District have a right to hear their candidates candidly debate the issues and explain their views on topics important to the District,” said Hunt. “And that’s why I strongly support participating in this open, televised debate. I would like to thank this nonpartisan group of local leaders for their interest in serving the 7th District and in ensuring voters have access to all the information they need to make their decision at the ballot box. I am honored to accept this invitation and I hope my opponent Representative Lizzie Fletcher will do the same.”

Hunt is a Houston native and battle-tested leader willing to stand up for the 7th Congressional District. Hunt has previously challenged Fletcher to debate, with no response from the Fletcher campaign.  While his opponent Lizzie Fletcher made Pelosi Speaker of the House and refuses to condemn the most liberal of Democratic priorities, Wesley is a problem solver who will work with both sides to bring results home to the 7th District.
