Houston, TX – Today, Wesley had the honor of receiving Congressman Bill Archer’s formal endorsement of his campaign in the 7th District. Wesley is humbled by Congressman Archer’s support and hopes to live up to the standard of leadership he set during his decades of service. Congressman Archer announced his endorsement of Wesley’s campaign in the following letter:
Dear Residents of the Seventh District,
It is my pleasure to share my enthusiastic support for Wesley Hunt in his campaign to be the next Representative for Texas’ Seventh Congressional District. The Seventh District holds a special place in my heart, as I had the honor of holding the seat for 30 years following the tenure of my friend, President George H. W. Bush. My lifetime of service to this District at the local, state, and federal level taught me a great deal about what it takes to protect and defend the interests of Houston. I am confident that Wesley’s leadership and experience uniquely position him to guide Houston through the unprecedented challenges we face today. I strongly support his candidacy and I encourage you to do the same.
Wesley Hunt and I have more in common than you may realize. We were both raised in the great city of Houston and both served in the United States Armed Forces. Wesley served as a Captain in the Army and I served as a Captain in the Air Force. After our military service, we both made the decision to return to Houston to continue to serve our city in new ways. Wesley is a native Houstonian and family man who puts the needs of his community ahead of his own, and I believe his ethos as a servant leader will ensure that Houston will have a devoted advocate when Wesley is elected to Congress.
Not only does Wesley have a tremendous background, but he also has an unwavering commitment to the values that make Houston a city unparalleled in opportunity, quality of life, and healthcare. In order to preserve these aspects of our great city, Houston needs leadership that understands the value of fiscal responsibility. We need leaders who will empower our small business owners, our energy workers, medical professionals, and our entrepreneurs. Our greatest asset is our people, and our government must know when to intervene, and when to get out of the way so that the hardworking people of Houston can take the lead. Wesley represents a new and dynamic generation of leadership that our country — and Congress — desperately need.
We all know that these are unique and challenging times. I encourage you to look to Wesley Hunt as the leader capable of meeting the moment. Please vote for him on November 3rd!
