Houston, TX – Today, Commissioner R. Jack Cagle (R, Precinct 4) endorsed Iraq War veteran and native Houstonian Wesley Hunt in the 7th Congressional District. Cagle, one of two Republicans currently sitting on the Harris County Commissioners Court released the following statement.
“As a combat veteran, Wesley has proven himself to be a leader willing to put his own life on the line to protect our freedom and liberty. In his personal life, he’s shown himself to be a conservative willing to stand up against higher taxes and the radical left,” said Cagle. “I proudly endorse Wesley Hunt in the 7th District because we need leaders like him in Congress.”
Last month, Cagle and fellow Hunt endorser Commissioner Steve Radack blocked an attempt by the Democrat controlled Commissioners Court to raise property taxes across Harris County.
“It is an honor to receive the endorsement of Commissioner Cagle. I hope to emulate his service to this district and commitment to conservative leadership,” said Hunt. “Like Commissioner Cagle, I will fight tooth and nail for lower taxes, better schools and to prevent future flooding.”
Cagle joins a slew of conservative leaders, including Senator Ted Cruz and Commissioner Steve Radack in endorsing Hunt.
Wesley Hunt is a Houston native, West Point graduate and Apache Helicopter pilot running to protect Houston’s values and way of life.
